"Gladwell's finest and most vital work in years."

The New York Times

POD MTN produced and edited Legacy of Speed, a six-part narrative podcast for Pushkin Industries and Tracksmith. Hosted by bestselling author and Pushkin co-founder Malcolm Gladwell, Legacy of Speed explores the story behind the iconic photo of two Black athletes raising their fists in protest at the 1968 Olympic Games in Mexico City. It was an Official Selection for the 2023 Tribeca X Awards.

The series was also named one of the best podcasts of 2022 by The New York Times: “The image of the American sprinters Tommie Smith and John Carlos standing on a podium, black-gloved fists raised high in the air, will be seared into history books forever. But Gladwell makes a convincing case that the story of how they got there and what came after — winding through intersecting revolutions in sports and politics that still rage to this day — is even more astonishing.”
